Review of Courageous (2011) by Mrs N — 18 Dec 2017
This movie has been out for awhile but just saw it now. I read the book by Randy Alcorn first which was a favorite book. I thought the movie couldn't be as good as the book, but it was! I highly recommend watching all the "extras" about the making of the movie too - good stuff (love "60 second Courageous"!)! This is one of my all time favorite movies - it has all the good stuff and none of the garbage of most movies.
I laughed really hard, cried, learned about how destructive fatherless families are to society, and the real solution to all problems, Jesus Christ. The plot, dialogue, filming was all great. It didn't have annoying music covering up the dialogue like most modern films.
It didn't have fake dizzying "special effects" to make up for modern films' lack of story. This movie was so good that I went and purchased it and Fireproof and War Room. I already have the others.
I saw Flywheel once long ago and loved it, need to see it again. I wish many others would make movies like the Kendrick brothers and Sherwood Pictures!
