Review of Courage Under Fire (1996) by Alvin Y — 15 Oct 2011
In most reviews in Flixster, I think I'm the only one who gave this a 5 stars. This movie has everything, Washington and Ryan's performances are superb here even though they never meet each other.
The storyline is very similar to "Rashomon", as if the other characters tell stories that may be true or not about a person or an incident. The battle scenes is very gritty and brutal, as you know everyone is indeed impossible to win even if they're brave.
And, for the matter of fact, this also reminds me of a film that I truly hate, which is "Lions for Lambs". If it's not the best military war drama film you've ever seen, well then see "Battle Los Angeles" or play "Call of Duty" at home, it may be your medication.
