Review of Courage Under Fire (1996) by Evelynlily — 01 Feb 2008
It's very strange for me to watch this film after maybe 10 years and realize how much has changed in my life. I can obviously relate to the narrative ona much more personal level and anticipate being deployed to the same country portrayed in the film in the near future.
I did not fail to note Cheney and Bush on the wall of the General's office either. Yet another reminder. Washington turns in another firstrate performance, as always. Meg Ryan is really givern next to nothing to do, as her role is largely symbolic in nature.
Zwick and the writers certainly know how to get an emotional reaction out of their audience though. A well done film and excellent film.
