At its core it's about what it means to be a star, with the glory and danger that are inherent in that. There are four clear characters who each both bring in a sliver of true stardom and are developed to the point that each are enjoyed.
The story is painted in the frame of Texas, creating a beautiful portrait of the country music culture in the US.
