Review of Country Strong (2010) by Natalie G — 18 Nov 2011

This movie very nearly made me cry. Made me realise the amount of pressure that celebrities face being in the spotlight and having to perform when they are really at their lowest and just want to be left alone.

Gwyneth was brilliant as the tragic Kelly and ably supported by Tim as her misguided husband, Garrett as Beau, the cool guy and Leighton who was wonderful as Chiles Stanton. I like the way the songs were performed in the movie.

A heartwrenching movie. Shattered dreams, wasted chances, love and fame, life and death. Sometimes, it's really all about being happy doing what you are doing.

Thought it was based on a true story but it wasn't. But then again, it could happen. Or maybe it already did. Tragic.
