Review of Countdown to Zero (2010) by Zach T — 23 Nov 2010
Countdown to Zero has a great message of Nuclear Disarmament but the overall delivery was definitely ham-fisted. I know that documentaries are always slightly biased but this just ended up feeling way too preachy and forcible.
While I still rated this movie high at one point, the ending with the shameless plug upset me greatly. It made the whole experience seem like a not a documentary by which you can learn and take your own action and feelings from, but a political campaign commercial with the "This is my message and I approve" tacked right on the end so you can make sure to contact the "correct" people.
It made you feel like you couldn't be properly trusted with the message. I find that Countdown to Zero can be summed up in the meme, "Son, I am disappoint.".
