Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Charlie M — 21 Dec 2012
It's a heavy movie. Most times it feels poorly adapted from its original literary form. If I could compare it to another movie, I'd compare it to something like Coriolanus (which is a better movie).
It's similar in the sense that the dialogue is strictly adapted from its source, as opposed to being changed to more appropriately fit the silver screen. Acting is okay, Pattinson does a pretty decent job considering he is stuck within the confines of the book's dialogue.
He really only appears mediocre at moments when he's next to Paul Giamatti, which takes up a large portion of the ending. Everyone else seems relatively stiff (not their fault once again), but only because of the writing and directing.
