Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Paul J — 09 Feb 2013
This was an almost impenetrable film. As uncompromising as Spider. The language is so sophisticated that one has to pay absolute close attention. The majority of the story takes place in a limo and the car becomes a metaphor for our personal world of technology.
Many of Cronenberg's themes are explored and the look of the film is precise and stunning. Even the lead actor is perfectly cast. It's a shame that the movie is so alienating. Yet, strangely appropriate, considering the subject matter.
