Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Andrew K — 13 Apr 2013
The directing is slick in the beginning but the dialogue is unusual at times and then downright genius at others. If you're not interested in business then you'll definitely not care for this movie.
The themes in it are pretty basic. It's just the same old "capitalism is evil" left wing dribble you'd expect. But I think the big problem is that this movie seems directionless. It's like one random scene after the other each of which is only slightly related to the last.
Then there's some scenes like Torval's death that just make no sense at all. It doesn't help that the main character is very unlikable too. The ending is a major letdown too.
