Review of Corman's World (2011) by Christophe C — 19 Dec 2011
I went into this documentary knowing who Roger Corman is and almost nothing else. I left with a working knowledge of really just how much Corman has affected both within the film industry and culturally.
Though, as a documentary, this film did little in pushing boundaries or unearthing anything that isn't readily available to research quickly on IMDB or Wikipedia, I did find myself highly entertained and wanting to know more.
I have no delusions of attempting to watch all of the literally 100s of Corman films, but I was given a core list. The Intruder, an anti-segregation film that is also William Shatner's first film, is high on this list, both for its historical significance and for the several people within the film that said it is his best.
I would highly recommend that anyone who considers themselves a film buff see this movie at their earliest opportunity.
