Review of Coraline (2009) by Amanda C — 12 Sep 2012
Coraline is animation at its absolute best. Quirky, off kilter and just plain weird, Selick has created a world where nothing is as it seems. Building off of Neil Gaiman's novel, this is a perfect companion to his slightly twisted story.
The visuals are spectacular and the script is fantastic, pulling you in and keeping you glued to the screen. It's equal parts fun and frighting, which is exactly what animation does so well.
