Review of Cor, Blimey! (2000) by James K — 25 Aug 2008
Funny, moving and well-portrayed account of the affair between Sid James and Barbara Windsor. Provides a fascinating look behind the scenes of the Carry On movies, is brilliantly cast and very enjoyable.
Even manages to make Barbara Windsor likeable, right up to the point where the lady herself appears and plays herself in the final scene, which is just irritating. Grr. Oh, and Adam Godley's portrayal of Kenneth Williams is infintely better than Michael Sheen's woefully pantomime version in 'Fantabulosa'.
