Review of Copying Beethoven (2006) by Kathleen K — 16 Sep 2008

As I watched this, and granted, I'm no Beethoven expert, but I was under the impression that he was completely deaf toward the end of his life...so I looked it up and I read about a handful of important details about his life that are ignored/altered in this movie.

I don't like to nit-pick about stuff like that, but when they are major details about a historical figure, it bothers me. Why can't the facts be left alone...I don't mind an occasional liberty taken for the sake of drama.

..but I don't get why the facts aren't important. Having said that...Ed Harris' performance is pretty impressive, and the movie itself is fairly interesting, but it drags a bit toward the end.
