Review of Copycat (1995) by Jard M — 27 Sep 2010
A thriller that should keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end. The main reason to watch this are the two leading females. Sigourney Weaver is great (as usual) as the agorophobic psychologist.
Holly Hunter is just as good as the tough but approachable cop. The supporting cast are alright but the leading ladies are in charge here. Although Harry Conick Jr does give a suprisingly good performance.
The story and concept is interesting, a killer who copycats previous infamous serial killers. This isn't a who-done-it as the killer is revealed to the audience sometime earlier before the characters find out.
So this movie won't keep you guessing. The purpose is keep you on the edge of your seat, which it certainly does. You do also start to really dislike the killer which makes you want to see the leading ladies catch him.
A more than serviceable thriller that is recommended viewing.
