Daft and silly as hell but I liked it. If you like the first two scenes with Tracy Morgan doing his 30 Rock/Eddie Murphy thing then you should enjoy the movie. A bonkers opening scene that has an interrogation in which Morgan constantly rips lines out of famous movies is hysterical, mainly because none of them make sense. 'These aren't the droids you're looking for!' - What?/ Class.

I can see how he can get on viewers nerves but I actually thought he has some great lines in the movie. His character is laughably stupid and completely unrealistic as a cop but Bruce Willis' character probably is as well. I can't imagine many 50 yr old detectives breaking in to drug dealers houses. The story is daft as hell, revolving around a stolen car and a rare baseball card but the action is decent, the quips thick and fast and above all I thought it was quite funny (and smutty in places, after all it is directed by Kevin Smith so that is surely to be expected). I think it' been hard done by from a critical point of view but so have most of Smith's movies and to be honest I wouldn't pay them much mind. If you want a modernish take on Beverly Hills Cop/48 Hrs then this is your movie. It's even got an 80's synth heavy soundtrack to make you feel at home in that era. Daft but entertaining Friday night movie and who doesn't like that once in a while?
