Review of Cop Out (2010) by Nikita M — 09 May 2011
Eh, I guess it was what I was expecting but that doesn't mean it was really good. I do wish this could have turned out as i'm sure Kevin Smith was expecting but it just didn't. Sean William Scott was the highlight of this movie and gave it about 75% of it's comedic value, easily the best character he's played in quite awhile.
Tracey Morgan wasn't terrible and actually acted which was good to see because that could have turned out as a disaster, although he's not winning any awards any time soon (or in this lifetime).
The comedy just wasn't really original or as hard hitting as it needed to be and as the movie further developed I became more interested in the plot (as I had given up on the comedy for the most part) so when something funny did happen it was like a little present.
If you're a Kevin Smith fan I would say you should watch it because it has his man juice all over it, but this really isn't anything special.
