Review of Cop Out (2010) by Trey C — 03 Jul 2012
Not funny at all. Was it just me or was their something I didn't get? Anyways, this had everything wrong except for the production values. The producing was okay and it's the only reason why I add one extra star.
If this had really bad production values then I would have given it one star. But American films tend to have good production values. It seems to be the best area of film Americans are good at. Moving on, the writing was the worst and really painful to listen too.
The jokes where just thrown in just to fill in some extra pages on the script. It was very decorative and did not carry the plot like how a good script should. The story itself is very weak. The conflict revolved along getting a baseball card back.
Sounds familiar. Weak conflicts are okay just as long as you add good plot build up. This sadly does not do that. The direction was very horrible. It seemed like it was filmed just to get it over with and get a pay check.
I did not like the camera angles. Please don't get me started on the acting. Wait, this is a review so I have to talk about the acting. I did not like the acting at all. The whole cast need to work on their facial expressions.
Tone of voice and body language was good. But the facial expressions have to be one of the best area of acting because it's the one that's the most noticeable. I would recommend this to people that aren't into the art of film and just want to watch a movie.
