Review of Cop Out (2010) by Tim S — 23 May 2014
Cop Out is one of those movies that you'd rather just forget about. As a teenager and as a 20 year old, I enjoyed Kevin Smith's output of work. It wasn't all perfect or anything, but it spoke to me in a weird way.
I can't imagine what this is trying to say. It doesn't help your enjoyment of the movie when you know the behind the scenes stories about Bruce Willis being a total jackass on set AND that the mind-numbingly awful Tracy Morgan is running around screaming in it.
I'm not really sure why Bruce Willis does movies nowadays. He has lots of money and could retire. He doesn't feel like acting anymore, that's for sure. And Kevin, I don't really know what to say about that.
It's not the movie that he wanted, but it didn't really turn out good at all. It's more of a test to see how quickly you'll turn a movie off more than anything. I can't imagine being stuck in a theater with this thing.
