Review of Cop Land (1997) by Aislinn O — 02 Mar 2008
Stallone gives a phenomenal performance amongst a lot of great performances. The scene where Harvey Keitel asks him "Who do you think you are?" and Stallone replies "I'm the Sheriff" had me fist-pumping the air at how badass it was, because we've seen him go from this meek schlub to a man who stands firm in his beliefs and won't take any shit anymore.
The only thing missing in this "Urban Western" is a big shootout on Garrison's main street, but what we get at the end is almost as exciting.
