Review of Cop Land (1997) by Pieter-Jan V — 11 Nov 2008
I've wanted to check this film out for ages and finally got around to it and I have to say,i was pretty impressed. Sylvester Stallone plays a Sherriff in a small town of cops that work for the NYPD.
His job is pretty easy going and he enjoys it but when the cover up of a a supposidly dead cop is exposed, hell starts to break loose in the town and it turns out there's all sorts of police corruption going down that Sly unwittingly gets involved in.
With Robert DeNiro, Harvey Keitel and Ray Liotta in the cast, Stallone was never going to be the best actor in this film but he did a good job,putting on alot of weight for the role and giving a decent,understated performance.
A very good drama/thriller with some twists and turns and good performances from all involved.
