Review of Cop Land (1997) by Robert W — 26 Nov 2008
What can I say about this classic film that hasn't already been said. First off, James Mangold's directing is spot on, the sounds and colours he uses makes the film. The cast are oscar performance worthy.
Stallone is at his best since Rocky, Robert De Niro & Harvey Keitel put on a steller performance, which I haven't seen since this film was released. (minus Jackie Brown & Ronin for De Niro) The supporting cast are just as important, Robert Patrick and Michael Rapaport are so underrated.
The ending is really well shot and is an underrated ending to a film to date. In my eyes this is one of the best cop films of the 90's. This is not Rambo, Goodfellas or Pulp Fiction. This is Cop Land.
