Review of Cop Land (1997) by Danny C — 26 Feb 2009
The best thing Stallone has done - and that's not meant as faint praise. He is terrific as a flabby, downtrodden sheriff who missed his chance and only slowly realises what his colleagues and friends think of him. His hangdog body language and empty, broken eyes speak volumes.
The plot(s) are pretty complicated, but the ensemble cast is excellent, with great performances all round. Taut, with an underlying menace throughout. Recommended.
