This star studded cast delivers a nicely done cop thriller with more heart than you would expect from Sylvester Stallone.

Stallone stars as the sheriff of "Cop Land", a small suburban community where all of New York's finnest cops live in peace outside of other neighborhoods full of crime. Stallone plays a sheriff who doesn't much care whether he does his job or not because with his one bad ear he can never be a real cop where the action is. But one day a young cop jumps off a bridge, and what spawns after is the unveiling of corruption and conspiracy within the town and the cops who live there. This isn't a regular action paced cop thriller, because there isn't that much action. This is a slower paced cop movie where it centers around Stallone who does some wonderful acting as a depressed, nihlistic man. There are also wonderful acting from his veterian costars, Harvey Keitel and Ray Liotta.

This movie was done in a traditional sort of way. But like I said, because this movie wasn't done like a hollywood action flick is what makes it appealing. It's mood swiches nicely from sad to thriller as it swiches narratives from Stallone to Keitel. The climax of the movie, though short and not as big as some would like it to be, it is done very simply and nicely.

This movie is great. It not only stars some of my favourite actors, but it's done in such a different sort of way. This movie is all about taking charge, standing up for what's right and being a man despite the troubles lived through in the world. I like this movie and, and because of the way it's done, and because of the terrific preformance from Stallone, it's a good one to catch if you get the chance.
