Review of Cop Land (1997) by Mike S — 17 Aug 2011

A great little gritty film which managed to pull a great (and normally expensive) cast, despite the low budget, because the script was so good.

The cast feature some great actors who could have over played their parts, but De Niro, Liotta and especially Keitel give very good measured performances.

But amazingly, it's Stallone's acting that makes the film work and maybe he should have focused his energies on being fat and acting, rather than being muscles and guns. His career might have gone on to be better after this film than it did. Other than Rocky 1, I think this was his best performance.
