Review of Cop Land (1997) by Dato V — 20 Nov 2007
The best Stallone film since 'Cobra'! LOL! only joking, this isn't really a "Stallone" film. He usually plays hyperbolic larger than life character that couldn't really share a screen with De Niro and Keitel. But Sly only really stood out because he out acted the rest of the cast! Of course I never doubted him for second lol.... Rocky - First Blood... I get lumps in my throat watching those movies lol. The whole film relies on his performance, and the fact that it is a man of Sly's size it really adds to the suspense waiting for his reaction, or lack of lol. It's a real shame he isn't cast in more demanding roles like this.
I think as much as I loved Sly's acting, Ray Liotta's character stole the show for me, not only because he was the most pro-active character, or because he almost made curly hair look cool, but because he stabs Robert Patrick in the nose with a dart LOL!!! I've been wanting to do that since Terminator 2! Great to finally see it done LOL!! That was probably the thing I loved most... Or maybe seeing Janeane Garolfalo in uniform... one or the two.
