Review of Cool Runnings (1993) by Graeme H — 30 Aug 2013
Well, look, I don't know about you but this is a film that is almost impossible to catch on TV and not end up watching in its entirety. I think I stumble into watching it at least once every couple of years.
Singlehandedly helping to raise interest levels in the Winter Olympics south of the equator upon its release, whilst probably reaffirming dodgy Jamaican stereotypes. It's a fun film even if it took a fair amount of liberties in the re-telling of the original story of Jamaican bob-sledding.
A noteworthy film also because it was John Candy's last major film (Canadian Bacon a flop by anyone's standards), he was a major talent and it's a shame he didn't stick around longer. A family classic.
