Review of Cool Runnings (1993) by Karl R — 24 Jan 2010
Clearly aimed at a younger generation, Cool Running is a uplifting, poignant, and tremendous story of athletes that come out of no where to make a splash on the largest athletic stage. Despite some cheesy and questionable dialogue and discrepancies between the movie and reality, the movie is worth some big smiles and a feel good ending. Even though the dialogue is the weakest part of the movie, you can help but feel entwined in the Jamaican spirit.
It's worth it to learn about the story and watch the live footage of their runs in Canada, but watching the entire movie is another story.
