Absolutley Newman's best movie. George Kennedy earned his.
Best supporting actor award and deserved it. Filming is superb.
And makes you feel like your'e there on that road gang.
Actually saw one of these chain gangs in the mountains.
Of western Virginia several years ago. Struther Martin also.
Plays his best role as the warden. Never get tired of seeing.
