Review of Cool Hand Luke (1967) by Ronan V — 10 Oct 2010
A truly GREAT film...and one that can be discussed long after it's over...Newman is outstanding..his best role? possibly..i havent seen "the verdict" yet but I would say his role in "Hud" is his best but this one is right there with it.
..great cinematography also..supporting performances are great from everyone..the guards in the film are downright creepy...a bit slow in the first half but once Newman starts his escape attempts I was on the edge of my seat the rest of the film.
..shocking ending....an underrated classic that shouldnt be missed...for fans of this film also checkout "Stalag 17" from 1953 starring William Holden.
