A man refuses to conform to life in a rural prison. This is a great prison drama with plenty of memorable scenes which in itself is a testimony to the greatness of the screenwriting, but most importantly to the charisma with which it is carried out by Paul Newman with his performance of one of his most recognisable characters, the rebellious Cool Hand Luke that captured the feelings of its times and became representational of a whole generation.
