Review of Cool Hand Luke (1967) by Fernando D — 23 Jan 2013
With a terrific performance by Paul Newman and full of christian symbolism, Cool Hand Luke is a movie about hope, perseverance and the search for redemption. The parallel between Luke and Jesus Christ that is shown in the film is something like the russians used to say, that Lenin was "the better Jesus", but the only "hope" Luke (as much as Lenin) can offer his fellow prisoners is sheer fantasy.
A movie to watch more than once.
