In my view, the best movie ever made.
The cinematography is incredible. Watch the lighting/sound contrast as the scenes switch from night in the prison dorm to the blaring daytime heat of the chain gang.
Movie filled with great lessons on life. You can't motivate or change somebody by torture. When people talk about "the good old days" when prisoners were on chain gangs, think about this movie.
