Review of Cool Hand Luke (1967) by Jeffrey D — 21 Jun 2010
I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't think that this was amazing. It's not horrible, but parts of it just dragged on and got very repetitive. I guess that's the point, but it just bugged me.
Paul Newman and George Kennedy saved this movie for me. Both of them give great performances, especially Kennedy. He definitely deserved his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. As a whole though, it's decent, and that's about it.
Like I said, I'm in the minority, so you might like it more. But I personally thought it was a bit of a letdown.
