Review of Conviction (2010) by Alain A — 01 Mar 2011
This awe-inspiring triumphant true story of perserverence is remarkable. Sadly the directing and writing don't really envoke enough emotion but the performances make up for the "hallmark-esque" style of directing.
Once again Sam Rockwell has been snubbed from oscar contention giving his second best performance of his career (moon being the first) and the real treat is Minnie Driver as she stands as the backbone for Swanks character.
Petter Gallagher and Melissa Leo lend nice veteran touches as Juliette Louis shocked the hell out of me with her haunting portrayl. An uplifting film that really makes you question the court systems.
