Review of Conviction (2010) by Ryan C — 09 Apr 2012
Based on a true story and I read it follows the facts pretty closely but probably could have done with adding a bit more into it to jazz it up. Decent but a bit bland, some excellent performances, I really liked Juliette Lewis cameo but the acting is really the only thing to recommend it for.
The courtroom bits have no tension and feel tacked on, years pass but you barely notice and there is no way Clea Duvall passes for a 40+ year old mother. Better courtroom type films out there.
