Review of Conversations with Other Women (2006) by Nicole F — 06 Feb 2009
What makes this movie work is the performances, especially that of Helena Bonaham Carter. I am, and have always been a fan of Helena Bonaham Carter, but this was one of her best performances and she never looked more beautiful.
The chemistry between Bonaham Carter and Eckhart is wonderfully touching and beautifully underscored by the split screen flashbacks. In what could have easily come off as pretentious and over wrought the filmmakers maintain a lovely simplicity that allows the characters and actors to carry the film, using the unique style to support the story rather than distract from it.
