Review of Control Room (2004) by Jose M — 13 May 2009
A great look at life on the other side of the fence, which has the ,loud and clear message that journalism, the media and propagnda are never as clear cut as we think.
It is a sad fact of the world we live in that news can never be impartial and honest. Afterall each news broadcaster caters to their audience, it is good buisness sense - but how much do we really think about it happening to us? Whilst we can sit here in Englad and see the news from Iraq how much do we really question what we see and what is going on? Do we really ever think about whether we're getting the full picture?
What I took away with from this documentary is just the concept that what we see is not always what we get, when we see the news here we get the story which we want to hear, not always the whole facts. The same in Arab countries who tune in to watch Al-Jazeera. So if both sides are not covering the story impartially, what right does any government in the Western worid have to claim that Al-Jazeera are wrong in their actions?
