This movie had a great soundtrack and it was well done in black / white. However after 90 minutes I was starting to get bored and thought "Now when is he finally going to kill himself?" Not a thought that would come up while watching a better movie.
Sam Riley on the other hand did a fabulous job playing Ian Curtis! Four stars for him and the soundtrack.
