Review of Control (2007) by Sunnie D — 08 Jan 2009
This is when a great music bio meets cinematic brilliance. the directing in this movie along with the lighting and the acting just put you into a dark state of mind. the choice to do it in black and white was extremely effective in making us believe that where Ian Curtis came from a very gray and boring place but also shows us his internal struggle.
great performances from samantha morton who I love and a great first feature role for sam riley who was fantastic as Ian. one of the best bio-pics I have ever seen.
