Review of Control (2007) by Nacho S — 19 Feb 2009
It was a joy to see the live gigs in the movie being performed by the actors in real time as they were filmed. Those scenes convey a sense of reverence to musicians and the process of making music. After all, this is as much a biography of Ian Curtis as a making-of film for Joy Division's music.
And interestingly but not surprisingly, after seeing the movie, I only remember it as a series of wonderful b&w still images that somehow perfectly capture the spirit and innocence of a time.
