Review of Control (2007) by Ollie W — 12 Dec 2011
Best. Biopic. Ever.
Im not afraid to say I cried like a baby at the end - Riley's performance and Corbijn's superb camera combine flawlessly to bring not only one of the most memorable character studies in recent history, but also a very human story of mental and physical illness and the effects of these issues on the lives of family's, fans and friends. Everybody is superb - Kebbell and Morton are certainly both pulling their weight and provide two wonderfully etched out, intriguingly three dimensional characters - Morton's in particular is fused with a terrible, ominous, paradoxical tragedy.
