Review of Control (2007) by Juan Pablo M — 23 Apr 2010
Ian Curtis is about as interesting a figure as there is in rock music, and this film is worthy of him. Sam Riley is especially good as Curtis, giving a performance that both emphasizes the mysteries of Ian Curtis while making him someone I could really identify with.
All the cast is good, and the only complaint I have is that the film isn't as clearly structured as it could have been; but maybe it, like its central figure, just drifted from day to day until the end.
