Review of Control (2004) by Paul N — 09 Oct 2008
Earnest and laudable study of Ian Curtis. Uncompromising in its portrayal of Curtis and his life, this is less reverential than most music biopics, yet still maintains a lot of the staples of the genre.
Artfully composed visuals and compelling, natural performances keep the attention from wandering too far, but we have seen a lot of this before; not least in "24 Hour Party People".
