Review of Control (2004) by Gerry R — 18 Dec 2010
Control is the heart-wrenching tale of Ian Curtis and Joy Division. It pulls you in, tells a deeply saddening, emotional and mesmerising story, and then leaves a bitter taste in your mouth as it reaches it's climax.
Full of great performances, notably Samantha Morton and Sam Riley, great direction from the debut director Anton Corbijn and very powerful cinematography. Control is the most emotional and powerful film I have seen in a very long time.
This movies strengths are continuously exceeded. Pure brilliance and perfection.
