Review of Control (2004) by Spyros T — 01 Jan 2012
The life and the tragic story of a man battling his demons, especially when the film refers to a real life person, is always interesting when done the right way, and is even more interesting when done not having the academy in mind.
And here I believe we have the second one. Having Curti's wife as the source the film is more about Curti's marital and exmarital life than Joy Division, making it this way more accessable to people that are not familiar with Joy Division's music, and I suspect a little unfair to Aniik Honora.
A great biotopic and a great music film at the same time, makes you reconsider the notion that Curti's lyrics are enough to find the answers!
