Review of Contraband (2012) by Ian G — 27 Aug 2012
Another one of those I thought I was out but they pulled me back in heist films, focuses on Mark Wahlberg's former con turned security expert who has to go back into the game to help settle the debts incurred by a botched job by his brother in law (the kid who plays Banshee in the new Xmen first class series).
Much more serious that it ought to be at the centre of the film with the prototypical happy score ending that was sort of a whoops, and seems to hold some commonalities with Gone in 60 seconds and numerous Tony Scott films in terms of style.
Early January dumping ground leftovers and almost instantly forgettable.
