Review of Contraband (2012) by Rory R — 25 Sep 2012

I've only seen a few Mark Wahlberg films, but I've never seen him so badass, this role suited him perfectly playing an ex smuggler forced into one last job to save his brother-in-law and effectively his family.

This film may carry some cliches but where it triumphs is the plot, which keeps you interested throughout, this is helped by the action sequences with every bump Wahlberg's character faces. I also liked the fact that Kate Beckinsale was getting all the beating throughout the whole film while the actual people involved were out of the country, she still looked good even with the cuts and bruises :D It was also nice seeing Ben Foster play a more light hearted role.

.. for a while. Overall strong performances and worth a watch :).
