Review of Contraband (1980) by John P — 15 Oct 2009
Disappointed that I didn't get to finish it, but I doubt the last 30 minutes would improve upon the first 50.
It's the second crime movie, the second polizioschetti (or however you spell it), I've watched, and the second I've sent back to Netflix without finishing.
Probably because they're so fucking dull and boring, I lose interest. They're not poorly made, just.... Poorly told, I guess.
Anyway, this was Fulci's first movie after Zombi 2, and you can tell he's still got some gorners (gore boners, trademark: me), because half this movie is gory murders and setpieces. It's not a horror movie, but it's paced like one. Odd.
Anyway, perhaps someday I'll finish this. Perhaps someday I'll finish it in one sitting, as opposed to not finishing it in 5 sittings.
Until then, I throw this mediocre Contraband back into the sea, in my search for something more stimulating.
