Review of Contempt (1963) by Alex B — 27 Jan 2008
Brilliant! A stunning portrait of married life and emotion, all entwined into the wonderful world of film. Beautiful score by Georges Delerue, beautiful cinematography by the great Raoul Coutard (I guess cinemascope wasn't just meant for snakes and funerals) and beautifully directed performances by Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli, Jack Palance and especially Fritz Lang (he plays himself so well).
Godard's very best.
