Review of Contempt (1963) by Angela P — 08 Mar 2010
A very serious personal story going on in the background to a silly arty plot. Well, that's life. Cultured people being victims of the human condition like some sort of slow car crash - aware and yet impotent.
Some fantastic arty shots. The half-finished apartment rings true and injects some much needed humour. It is a meaty film which I would happily watch again more than once.
